Letter from the Pastor

Dear HF Families,

We deeply value the trust you place in us each week to care for your kids. As our church continues to grow, we’re committed to ensuring our check-in and check-out procedures provide the safest possible environment. Although there hasn’t been a specific incident prompting this change, we recognize that our current approach has become a bit too casual and may unintentionally communicate a lack of intentionality about your child’s safety—especially to newer families.

Starting Sunday, July 13, 2025, we will implement a new check-in and check-out policy:

Here's what's changing:

  • Check-In: Parents, guardians, or authorized family members must personally check in their children. Children will no longer be allowed to check themselves in without an adult.
  • Check-Out: You will receive a parent tag at check-in, and our KidsMin volunteers will verify it before releasing your child. A clear photo of your tag on your phone is also acceptable. For everyone's safety, you must present a parent tag at pick-up—we cannot release children without verification of the pick-up tag.

Why are we making this change?

  • As we welcome many new families and volunteers, establishing a clear, secure check-in/check-out process helps all families feel confident about the safety and care their children receive.
  • Updated procedures align us with recommended safety practices and help prevent potential confusion or unauthorized pick-ups.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we make this transition. Your child’s safety is our highest priority, and these changes reflect our commitment to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for everyone.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us—we’re happy to discuss these updates with you.

Thank you for partnering with us to make HF Kids a safe, joyful place for all our families.

Building households of faith,
Pastor Scott
